Tom Felton landed an international commercial campaign that launched his career. Born in September of 1987, Felton began singing in four choirs at the age of seven. The family friend was not the only one to recognize young Felton's talents, as he was offered a place in the Guildford Cathedral Choir shortly before launching his acting career. Beating out over 400 aspiring young actors for the coveted ad campaign, Felton made his feature debut in The Borrowers (1997), turned in a memorable performance as a witness to crime in television's Second Sight, and turned up alongside Jodie Foster and Chow Yun-Fat in Anna and the King (1999). In 2001, Felton took on his biggest challenge to date when he appeared in the much anticipated Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. ~ Jason Buchanan.

He enjoys football (soccer), ice-skating, roller-blading, basketball, cricket, swimming, and tennis, but his first love is fishing. He was introduced to it through one of his brothers. His biggest catch so far has been a 37.14-pound common carp. He fishes using the catch-and-release system so as not to harm any fish. He hopes to study fisheries management in college after the filming of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004).

The London Sun claims that he is related to John Proctor, one of the accused witches in the 17th century Witch Trials in Salem, Massachusetts. Proctor's son Thorndike Proctor married a Hannah Felton. The elder Proctor appears in as a character in Arthur Miller's play The Crucible (1996), and is portrayed in the film by Daniel Day-Lewis. Tom himself, of course, plays a wizard in the Harry Potter films.
